Mask making crafts workshop

“I just wanted to say a big thank you to you and to Ted for today’s mask making workshop at Charles Read Academy. The session was excellent and the pupils were really engaged – so much so they were reluctant to go for break time! Comments I overheard, ‘We should do this for a whole week!’ and ‘I’m really enjoying this, and I never say that, do I?’

Netty is going to ask pupils to complete feedback forms on Friday and I am happy to pass on anything of interest to you. I have also asked staff in the room to feed back on their thoughts of the day.

The end results of the workshop were really impressive and Netty is going to allow time for pupils to finish off in her Art class on Friday. Masks may also be displayed at an upcoming parent evening and Netty has ideas for using some of the techniques she observed in future projects.

I will certainly be looking into offering this and possibly graffiti workshops out to other DRET academies. I will also feed back to my colleague who manages enrichment activities for DRET primary academies.”

James (I think that’s his name who did our workshop in the lake district) was amazing! My colleague said their workshop was really good too.”Feedback from a Liverpool Social Worker (Social Worker): After Adoption: November 2016

“We had beatboxing and rap sessions, an hour per year group (Y1-Y6). The children loved the workshops and really took to the leader, who was extremely good with the classes. He was talented, engaging, firm, fun and a brilliant teacher. He was also amazing at beatboxing, and the children loved that!
I would have liked a bit more time on the rap part, perhaps giving time for the children to write their own raps, and a bit less time on the beatboxing, but overall it was very successful – thank you!”Feedback from a Leicester teacher (Music Teacher): Newbold Primary School: (July 2016)
