Nugent Education Ltd is committed to effectively managing health and safety issues throughout all of its activities, which include children’s educational activities, and after school activities as well as a range of arts, music and adult and kids crafts. To achieve this we involve everyone that partakes in the activities that we organize. We aim to identify, control and where possible, eliminate risk.
We will take all reasonable measures to provide appropriate resources to carry out our health and safety policy and meet our commitments (listed below). We work in compliance with health and safety and other relevant legislation.

oThe company will take all reasonable and practicable measures to ensure the health, safety and welfare of those working within the company and partaking in the activities which we arrange including: employees, young people, visitors, clients and freelancers.
oIn consultation with our managers and clients, our freelance artists carry out risk assessments for after school activities and children’s educational activities and all workshops with adults, young people and kids. Crafts and music, for example display different types of risk by their nature, and such is always taken into account.
oYoung people and adults involved in our workshops and programmes are to be briefed about Health and Safety issues and ground rules are laid down before the commencement of each session. The participants are encouraged to develop responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others, and to therefore challenge unsafe behavior.
oAny accident or incident which results from participation in the activities undertaken by Nugent Education is unacceptable. We aim to avoid such by using safe working methods and appropriate equipment, along with adequate supervision, support and training.
oWe encourage people to report accidents and incidents in the workshops or during associated activities, by using the appropriate forms.
oWe will investigate thoroughly all incidents where there is the potential for further injury or damage to property owned by Nugent Education or other parties. Such investigations will allow us to analyze why incidents have occurred, and give us the tools to prevent such incidents in the future.
oAppropriate preventative and protective measures are put in place through policies, procedures, guidance, risk assessment, supervision/support and training.
oNo one is expected or allowed to, to work in an unsafe or unhealthy manner. Any person has the right to refuse to work in such a manner and we challenge any unsafe practices if see we them occurring. Where incident or potential risk occurs we then review the related procedures to prevent incidents of such reoccurring.
oWe co-operate and communicate with external partners, clients and freelancers to ensure compliance with the health and safety legislation and encourage shared safe working practices.
oWe provide information, equipment, instruction, training and supervision to help those working within the company, and others sharing our premises and working practices, to recognize and minimize risk to themselves and others.
oAll equipment is PAT tested, and where deemed unsafe, it is replaced.
oFreelance artists / workshop leaders all undergo CRB enhanced disclosure scrutiny to encourage the safety of all involved in the sessions, and diminish possible risks for the young people and other employees involved.
oAll measure above apply to all activities whether in, outside of or after school. Activities are all monitored and reviewed.
